Reflecting on Our Ongoing Partnership with the Lake Tahoe Electric Transportation Forum

The Nevada Battery Coalition (NBC) officially launched in February 2023 at the Nevada Clean Energy & Transportation Conference (NCETC). While our announcement was public that day, the groundwork had been laid over many months. Industry leaders and partners collaborated behind the scenes to determine the NBC’s future potential impact and focus areas. When we learned that a group was planning a new forum highlighting one key aspect of our industry, it felt like the perfect opportunity to announce our formation.

From Concept to Action

Following the NCETC, our work shifted into high gear. We focused on:

  • Filing essential legal and organizational paperwork
  • Clarifying our mission and purpose
  • Expanding our membership base
  • Strategic planning
  • Laying the foundation to fulfill the NBC’s objectives

Around the same time, our partners at the NCETC evolved their efforts as well. They announced the formation of the Lake Tahoe Electric Transportation Forum (LTETF), which would become the new home for future events.

From the very beginning, the NBC has been proud to partner with the LTETF.

Sharing Nevada’s Story on a Growing Stage

In 2023, we participated in an LTETF panel to share insights into Nevada’s unique role in the battery and electric transportation ecosystem. We were honored to return again this year, on August 19, for another panel discussion focused on the critical issues and opportunities in our sector.

This year’s panel featured:

  • Dr. Fred Steinmann, University of Nevada, Reno – UCED
  • Dr. Trisha Dutcher, Redwood Materials & Redwood Energy

Together, we explored:

  • The value of this emerging industry to Nevada’s future
  • The obstacles we face as the sector matures
  • The innovations that continue to drive us forward

Looking Ahead with Optimism

Each year, LTETF showcases the passion, ingenuity, and leadership of those advancing clean energy and transportation in Nevada. For us at NBC, hearing from experts and innovators is not only fulfilling—it’s a reminder of what’s possible when collaboration meets purpose.

We know the LTETF team is already hard at work planning next year’s event, and we’re excited to continue supporting and contributing to this vital platform. At the same time, we’re energized by the opportunities ahead to further tell Nevada’s story in this rapidly evolving industry.

Stay tuned—there’s a lot more to come.
